Well, Boris went in for the big SNIP the other day. He is home now, recovering nicely, but he does not like the CONE.

First Camping Trip

This weekend, Boris went to The Pinery for his first camping trip. He was really good and had a great time. On Saturday we went into Grand Bend, and he quickly outgrew his shyness as we walked along - well, walk is not really the word- more like step, step, stop, ohhh, ahhh, can I pet your dog?

Within a few minutes he was strutting along like he owned the world. Same thing the next day at the Pinery Flea Market.

Boris' Place

My good friend Jacqui, who works with me at the Hospital, is into Stamping. Now contrary to what I originally thought, Stamping is NOT rubber stamps and ink pads (yes, I thought that).

She made Boris this beautiful plaque, and I thought it would look perfect above his dishes in the kitchen. It does!

Feeling Better...

Well, Boris is feeling much better. The bump is almost gone, and he is back to his usual self, as you can see from this picture and video.

Poor Boris

Well, Boris has not been well these past few days. As puppies tend to do, he appears to have gotten into something that he shouldn't have. On Sunday morning, we noticed a HUGE lime sized lump on his neck. He went to the Vet on Monday and Dr. Julia thinks that it is an abscess, probably caused by him chewing on a stick, fence, nail, hammer, pen, ruler, screwdriver, rake, apple tree root, dead bird, brick, eaves trough, tire, DVD Spindle, spoon, work boot, dumbell (you get the picture). Most likely she thinks he jammed SOMETHING in his jaw and it got infected.

Just to be sure, Dr. Julia is doing some extra tests on his blood and the icky stuff in the swollen area, but he is reacting well to the antibiotics and anti inflammatories and the swelling seems to be going down. The only problem is that it is weeping a bit and he wants to scratch at it. Not wanting him to suffer the indignity of a cone around his neck, we have fashioned a little neck bandage out of an old sock with a hole cut at each end. That seems to be doing the trick for now.

Oh, and by the way, Boris is now 7.6 pounds!
